10 Vegan Summer Smoothies

Summer is here and the local produce is lush and chock-full of much needed nutrients. A smoothie is a delicious way to ingest greens, vitamins and nutrients!  Lucky for us, Rhode Island’s fitness expert Ryan Bate, has helped us to compile a list of 10 vegan summer smoothies.

Here are 10 Vegan Summer Smoothies you should incorporate into your daily life!  All you need to do is add the ingredients to your blender and blend!

Quick Tip-  Use frozen bananas for a creamier and sweeter smoothie!

pineapple1.  The Green Machine:

  • 1 cup (250 ml) coconut water
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 swiss chard leaf and stem
  • Frozen Pineapple Chunks
  • 1 handful of baby spinach leaves

2.  Hearty Green Goodness:

  • 1 banana frozen
  • 1 tbsp almond butter (or other nut butter)goji berries
  • 1 tbsp oats
  • 1 tbsp goji berries
  • 1 handful of spinach
  • 1 cup of plain or vanilla unsweetened almond milk

3.  Minty Mojito Smoothie:

  • 3 cups ice cubes, or as desired

  • 2 cups baby spinach leaves, or to taste

  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks

  • 1 banana frozen

  • 1 orange, peeled and segmented

  • 10 fresh mint leaves, or more to taste

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • 1 lime, juiced

4.  Gingerly Green:

  • 2 cups cold water

  • 1 avocado, peeled, and pitted

  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley

  • 1 apple, cored and seeded

  • 1 carrot, cut into chunks

  • 1 lemon, peeled

  • 1 leaf kale leaf, or more to taste

  • 1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger root, or more to taste

  • 2 ice cubes (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon flax seeds

coconut water5.  Berry Green Smoothie:

  • 1 C fresh spinach, washed
  • 1 C frozen mixed berries
  • 1 C coconut or soy vanilla yogurt
  • ½ C crushed ice
  • 1 C water

6.  Orange You Going to Say Avocado?

  • ½ avocado, peeled with pit removed
  • 1 banana, frozen
  • 1 large orange, peeled
  • 1 C kale, washed
  • 1 C water

7.  Tropical Twist Smoothie:

  • 1 c pineapple chunks
  • ¾ c grated carrots
  • ½ c chilled coconut water
  • ½ c ice cubes
  • 2 Tbsp unsweetened dried coconut flakes, toastedturmeric
  • 2 tsp agave nectar
  • 2 tsp white chia seeds
  • ½ tsp turmeric (optional)
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce

8.  Get Your Green On!

  • 1 cup chopped kale
  • 2 lg kiwifruits, peeled and chopped
  • ½ c fresh orange or tangerine juice
  • ½ c cilantro sprigs
  • 1 rib celery, chopped
  • ¼ c ice cubes

pear9.  The Greener, The Better:

½ pear
¼ avocado
1 packed cup spinach
¼ cup coconut water
1 cup almond milk
1 tsp chia seeds
1 scoop protein powder (hemp, pumpkin or pea works great!)
pure water

10. Strawberry Fields of Green!

  • 3 cups cashew or nondairy milk of your choice
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 small orange, peeled
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1½ cups loosely packed spinach
